The Account Manager leads client relationships while developing and leading multi-faceted strategies for our digital marketing projects including email marketing, social media marketing, marketing automation, web development and other integrated programs. You’ll continually seek innovative, digital-oriented solutions and growth opportunities that align with our clients’ business goals, explore new technologies relevant to digital marketing, and train other team members to maximize business efficiency while maintaining and participating in our established culture.

As an Account Manager, you will have your finger on the pulse of your project teams and will be in tune with your clients. You’ll be responsible for P&L on individual projects by making good decisions with schedule, budget and quality on every project you lead. The key to your success will be the ability to adjust as client needs evolve, keep your team motivated and continually produce work of the highest caliber.

You will handle client crises with diplomacy and aplomb should they arise, largely anticipating issues and addressing them before they become crises. As a member of the Mambo team, you should present and communicate professionally and confidently in all forms and not be afraid of tough conversations internally or externally.

Job Description

  • Think strategically, synthesize complex data and develop innovative solutions.
  • Provide high-quality project leadership to complete digital marketing projects on schedule and on budget.
  • Manage client relationships, working with them to develop strategy to support their goals, create success metrics and lead the project team to execute stellar delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with clients using executive-level business correspondence and a relationship-building approach.
  • Act as final quality check for team deliverables before they are presented to clients. Exceed client expectations with polished, best-in-class work product.
  • Develop marketing plans, forecast revenue, and manage technical development within budget limits.
  • Use your deep understanding of your clients’ business and strategic goals to recommend new projects to existing clients. Write proposals, plan deliverables and develop SOWs per Mambo standards.
  • Understand and implement best practices in digital marketing disciplines.
  • Coach others in their digital marketing efforts, providing skills training, professional development advice and industry mentoring to all staff as needed.
  • Work with the Mambo project managers to understand processes, reporting and client support requirements. Add value to every touchpoint.
  • Communicate clearly and approachably with Mambo teammates to learn and share best practices, new skills and experience.
  • Comply with standards and practices outlined in the currently effective Mambo Media Employee Handbook.

Job Requirements

The right candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications, public relations, new media, anthropology or business management. They will have 8+ years of experience in digital marketing and experience working at an agency.

This candidate must also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills (including proofreading) and have knowledge of digital marketing channels and platform best practices. The Account Manager must be creative and enjoy working within an entrepreneurial environment that is mission-driven, results-driven and community-oriented. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities.

  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas both verbally and in writing, presenting complex information in a simple, straightforward manner.
  • Team player with “no job is too small” mentality.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills. Comfortable reading spreadsheets and navigating our project management and resourcing tools.
  • Great time management skills and the ability to effectively multi-task.
  • Knowledge of marketing automation, social media marketing, SEO, email marketing, paid media and/or web development best practices & principles.
  • Fluent use of standard office communications tools including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required.

Skills

  • HTML programming skills and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite tools, iOS and Android a plus
  • Analytics experience with Google Analytics, CMS tools, and dashboard systems
  • Familiarity with marketing automation tools such as HubSpot or Marketo
  • Experience with email marketing tools such as Constant Contact, Emma, MailChimp, or Act-On
  • Understanding of Google Ads (formerly AdWords) strategy and optimization
  • Familiarity with data flow mapping and data migration a plus

Abilities

Must be able to travel alone on occasion as needed, both within the Portland metro area and further afield. Must be a good communicator and present well to Fortune 500 clients.
